Message Classification on Exchange Online .xml

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to set up message classifications on a Microsoft365 tenant, in such a way that they can be selected by the end user to trigger Exchange Transport rules.

I can create the classification names in Powershell; create my rules, however I’m lost at showing the classifications in Outlook for the users to select.

According to all of the documentation I’m finding, you need to export an .xml, store it on the local PCs, then add a couple of registry keys to point Outlook to the .xml location.

However, I can only find the .xml export script for on-premises Exchange servers (found the script for 2013 on a blog – Microsoft’s documentation just says to find the script under your Exchange installation directory).

Does anyone know how to export this .xml from Exchange Online?

Thanks
